I purchased the vs.php 2.9 for visual studio 2010. I don't have vs 2010 so it should install the shell, but tells me that I don't have a valid version of visual studio 2010 installed and dies.

At the bottom of the versions page it says for standalone users to download and use a copy of vs.php for vs 2005, but for new users to use the 2010. I'm just a bit confused at the direction.

Thank you.
Jason

The standalone edition is an special edition we no longer sell. We now simply install the shell for any of the visual studio versions. So you are right with using VS2010 shell.

BTW, if you are having problems installing VS2010 shell, you can download it from Microsoft.

Note that this exe will extract the installer. So you need to extract then run the shell installer from the location it was extracted.

Thank you for your help on the shell. I was able to get it installed just fine.

I'm having a second problem, and that is that it's taking more than 5 minutes to load a file. I click on the file and 5 or minutes later it shows up, then it's even longer before it lets me edit the file.

Could you help me with the configuration perhaps or settings that will eliminate this?

Thank you very much

How about creating a php project? Any delays on that?

vaderjm says:

There are some delays, but what I've noticed now is that it also won't save my activation information. I have to enter my serial number every time I create a new project.

I enter it, it says activation successful.

Then I go back again and create a new project and have to enter it all over again.

juanc says:

Try activating the software running as administrator.

vaderjm says:

Hello,

I was able to activate as administrator and that seems to have cleared up the slowing down issues as well.

Thank you so much for helping me troubleshoot.

I love VS.PHP and was hoping I could get it back working again.

I'll keep you posted if anything else happens.

Thank you again.

Take care,
Jason
