Hello,
Just trying the trial version - and unable to File... New....Project From Existing Code...
Get a dialogue saying "Class not registered. Looking for object with CLSID: {...}" (see the attached screen shot...)
May be the trial version is crippled in this respect? (if so, not a very elegant way of showing it... :-) )

This is an open issue we have with MS. Go to new project->create from existing folder. This will achieve what you want to do.
